О себе
I graduated from Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry (named after A.I. Evdokimov) in 1987 and worked 27 years as an ophthalmologist in the Moscow region. Beginning in 1987, I was ophthalmologist at the S. N. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Complex (FEMC), one of the best and most famous eye institutes in the world. Dr. Fyodorov, the founder, was my chief and mentor for thirteen years. My experience includes about 15,000 operations for patients with cataracts, glaucoma, myopia (radial keratotomy and scleroplasty) and more than 100,000 ophthalmological examinations. In 1996, I became a candidate of medical sciences in this institution. Since 1996, along with my main job (ophthalmologist in the FEMC), I have been working as a private ophthalmologist with a practice of about 500 patients per year. I conducted full examinations using an autorefractometer, a computer perimeter, an ophthalmometer, a tonograph, an ophthalmoscope, and equipment to investigate visual acuity and selection of corrective lenses. After these exams, I prescribed eyeglasses for patients with myopia, hypermetropia, presbyopy and astigmatism. On an outpatient basis, I treated all patients with infectious diseases of the conjunctiva or/and cornea and with dystrophy of the retina. Also outpatient, I performed operations in my surgical unit on patients with cataracts, glaucoma, or progressive myopia. In 2006, I was hired as the chief ophthalmologist in the Department of Ophthalmology of Government Polyclinic #5, in the city of Mitischi (Moscow region). I supervised and educated five other ophthalmologists and seven nurses to provide ophthalmological support -- including surgical, therapeutic and consulting help -- to a district with about 30,000 residents. In order to conduct ambulatory operations, I designed and managed set-up for the ophthalmic surgical unit. In 1998, I took a part in a one-week volunteer expedition to Namibia as an ophthalmologist with a crew from the American volunteer organ
